PURPOSE:To enhance output from a single cell by increasing the single cell electromotive force of a solid electrolytic type fuel cell (SOFC) and by decreasing the resistance of a solid electrolytic film. CONSTITUTION:In a solid electrolytic fuel cell having a solid electrolytic film formed by thermal spraying method as an ion conductor, the solid electrolytic film has a film thickness of 40 micrometers to 100 micrometers and a nitrogen gas leakage amt. at room temp. of up to 10-5cc/g.sec. The solid electrolytic film preferably has a nitrogen gas transmission coefft. at room temp. of up to 10<-7>cm<4>/g.sec. The solid electrolytic film preferably consists of stabilized zirconia or partially stabilized zirconia. At feast one metal selected from groups comprising manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, and zinc is contained in the stabilized zirconia or the partially stabilized zirconia. |
