Improving utilisation of lines in two network junction in telecommunication system - handling further process to establish desired connection after waiting time if first attempt is unsuccessful

At least one further attempt (B1,...Bn) is made after a waiting period (WT1,...WTn) if the first attempt to establish a desired connection (VA) is unsuccessful, i.e. the incoming call is not abandoned. The periods are determined by the number of lines available in a bundle and the average engagement time. Pref. the mean occupation time is derived from measurement and/or with the help of statistical models for various incoming traffic levels. This mean value can be calculated from measured engagement times in a predetermined interval. A priority regime can be introduced by assigning the procedure to selected subscribers.
