<p>A ride-on toy with a velocipede frame having a simple and light construction. The ride-on toy comprises a lever shaft (4) hinged to center portions of the main frames (31), a rear axle (5) crossing with rear sections (32) of the main frames (27) and having first (51A) and second (51B) unidirectional sprockets at its center portion, a seesaw type lifting frame (7) fixed to a center portion of the lever shaft (4) and having a front connection beam (71) being coupled to a rear end of the curved lever of the handle shaft by a link (6). The toy further includes first (52A) and second (52B) arcuate operating members connected to each other at their upper ends and in turn connected to the lifting frame (7), each of the operating members having a plurality of engaging holes (52) longitudinally spaced out at regular intervals. The engaging holes of the operating members engage with the first (51A) and second (51B) unidirectional sprockets, respectively. A link (6) is mounted on a rear end of the lifting frame (7) and hinged to the saddle body. A brake unit is added to the frame and comprises a back support member (8) hinged to the saddle body and protrudes from the saddle body. Each of the lower ends of the back support member (8) extends downwardly and constitutes a brake lever (82) coming into contact with the rear axle (5) or with a rear wheel when the back support member (8) leans back about the hinge shaft (81),thus to achieve a braking operation.</p> |
