The data transmission system comprises several partial networks with each having a data bus (EL,SL) for data communication with the subscribers. The data streams of at least 2 partial networks are combined via a switching array (KF). The data associated with at least one data bus is delayed via a controlled propagation time equalisation stage (LZS) delaying the data combined in the transmission direction to obtain synchronisation of the time slot channels. The delay is at least equal to the duration of a single time slot channel. ADVANTAGE - Prevents data collision and reduces waiting time.
