Storage console for goods vehicle - has displaceable component above it with work and/or step surface

The console is arranged between the driver and co-driver seats and has stirrup-shaped components displaceable in guide rails, the upper surface of which is formed as a work and/or step surface. The storage spaces have reception modules (17) for vehicle operating controls, such as operating buttons, selector keys (19) installation units and/or objects, which are arranged on a module block (16) on a base (15) fixed to the vehicle. The stirrup (21) comprises a cover plate (22) extending parallel to the module block upper side, and a bearer plate (23,24) of one-piece construction and angled, extending parallel to one module block long side, which on its lower edge turned away from the cover plate (22) is fixed to the base (15) by means of a guide rail (25). USE/ADVANTAGE - A console as a central function area for a goods vehicle which is compact, providing a work, storage, operating and step surface for access to sleeping accommodation behind driver and co-driver seats.
