FLUORIDE GLASS OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a ZBLAN-based fluoride glass optical waveguide having a low transmission loss. CONSTITUTION:The objective fluoride glass optical waveguide is characterized by composing a part of a clad part 2 adjacent to a core part 1 from ZBLAN- based fluoride glass containing neither Pb nor Hf in a fluoride glass optical waveguide, mainly composed of the ZBLAN-based fluoride glass and containing Pb in the core part 1 and Hf in the clad part 2. Otherwise, the clad part is composed of the ZBLAN fluoride glass further containing Cl in addition to the ordinary composition.
