<p>PURPOSE:To provide a new compound useful as a synthetic intermediate for agrichemicals and pharmaceuticals, monomer for the synthesis of polymer and their raw materials. CONSTITUTION:2',2'-Difluoro-2,3'-bibenzoxazole of formula. The compound can be produced by reacting 2-chloro or 2-bromobenzoxazole with anhydrous hydrofluoric acid at 0-250 deg.C for 1-10hr. The anhydrous hydrofluoric acid for fluorination is used singly or as a complex with a Lewis base. Since the compound is formally the dimer of a 2-fluorobenzoxazole derivative, it has the characteristic features of a fluorine-containing compound in addition to those of a benzoxazole derivative. The compound of formula can be synthesized in one step in high purity and yield while producing little impurities.</p> |
