<p>PURPOSE: To provide a spacer device which keeps a gap between a bar code wand and a bar code label to protect the bar code label from the contact damage due to repeated read with the wand. CONSTITUTION: This spacer device 1 is provided with storage devices 5 and 11, where a read head 19 terminated with a read tip 21 of a bar code wand 17 is stored, and a contact arm device 13 which is connected to bottom parts of storage devices and projects downward from the bottom parts and keeps the read tip 21 of the bar code wand 17 a prescribed gap 25 apart from the surface or a tar code label 23 and can move the spacer device 1 and the related bar code wand 17 across the label 23 for the purpose of reading the bar code on the label 23.</p> |
