PURPOSE:To enable accurate and uniform cable connection by inserting the front end part of a flat cable sandwiched by a connector inserting jig, into a connector, and by locking a lock pawl on the connector under a condition that the front end part is inserted in a fixed degree. CONSTITUTION:When a front end part 11 of a flat cable 1 held in a wire holding recessed part of an inserting jig 2, is pushed into a cable inserting part 32 of a connector 3, front end parts 24, 24' of a jig main body 21 collides with collision ends 35, 35', which are pushed thereby. When arm parts 35, 35' are slidingly moved to the connector 3, and when the amount of movement reaches a specific level, the front end part of the cable 1 is locked on the connector 3, while lock pawls 33, 33' are locked on the connector 3 into an integrated form. The cable 1 is connected and fixed to the connector 3 by the locking, and a press part 22 of the jig 2 is opened to release engagement with the cable 1. The flat cable can be inserted into the connector by a single action, and accurate and uniform connection of the cable is thus enabled. |
