PURPOSE:To provide a word corrector which can present a proper word having pronunciation similar to that of an input character string when any wrong word is inputted. CONSTITUTION:A character string comparison part 103 judges whether the inputted character string is stored in a word storage part 102 or not. When the inputted character string is stored, a display control part 107 is notified of it. When the character string is not stored, the candidates of a correct answer word are generated and it is repeatedly judged whether the candidates of the correct answer word are stored in the word storage part 102 or not. When the input character string is not stored in the word storage part 102, a pronunciation comparison part 105 is notified of it, as well. A phonetic symbol generation part 104 generates a phonetic symbol from the input character string, the pronunciation comparison part 105 retrieves a pronunciation storage part 106 based on the phonetic symbol, and the display control part 107 is notified of the judged result. |
