PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce an operator's work burden at the time of document preparation accompanied with a weights and measures conversion, and also, to facilitate unification of a unit in a document. CONSTITUTION:When a character-string consisting of a unit showing a numerical value and its scale is inputted from an input part 1, its numerical value is converted to a value of other unit by an operation of a weights and measures converting part 6, a weights and measures converting data part 7 and a calculating part 8, and a character-string to which a numeral showing a value of its result and the unit concerned are attached is prepared. This weights and measures converting character-string is merged with the homophone in a result of KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion by an output editing part 9, and treated as a conversion candidate of the same input character by an output part 3. An operator looks at a display on a display, and he needs only to select and define one conversion candidate. Accordingly, as for an operator's work in a character input stage, it will be enough if only a numerical value of a suitable unit and its unit are inputted. |
