PURPOSE: To improve the arithmetic processing speed by detecting the motion vector of video signals and, at the same time, to simplify the hardware which detects the motion vector. CONSTITUTION: The video signals in a present frame and preceding frame are inputs to first and second contour detecting section 10 and 11. The counter detecting signals, outputted from the detecting sections 10 and 11 are converted into binarized images by means of first and second imaging sections 12 and 13. A motion vector detecting section 20 detects motion vectors between the frames only for the contour section of the binarized images excluding a flat part from the binarize image signals. |
