PURPOSE:To effectively utilize a memory for storing electronic mails by limiting the utilization of a mailbox corresponding to importance data included in the additional information of the electronic mail. CONSTITUTION:At a transmission side, when a mail text is prepared and the importance data are generated, the importance data are included in the additional information of the electronic mail and transmitted to a reception side. When the electronic mail is received by the reception side, the free capacity of the mailbox is detected at the reception side. When the free capacity is more than a standard capacity, all the electronic mails are stored in the mailbox. When it is below the standard capacity, the importance data of the received electronic mail is referred to and the electronic mail is stored in the mailbox when importance is higher than a standard. On the other hand, when it is lower than the standard, the storage inhibiting processing of the electronic mail is performed. |
