A storage and transport container is made in two identical halves of a stable material, each with a base and sides which point outwards at an angle; the halves stack together and can be placed together along their edges to form a closed container. Each half is a regular octagon in plan; the underside of the bases beneath four non-adjacent sides have feet, between these feet and another centre foot there are four spaces offset by 90 degrees from each other and these fit the forks of a stacker vehicle. The figure shows two halves (1) opened up. Their eight sides ruse up from the base sloping outwards to the top rim, so that empty container scan readily be stacked. The rim has a stiffening frame of two parallel flanges (3) which are jointed by short vertical strips (4). ADVANTAGE - The container is partic. suitable for holding powders (e.g. granules of plastic materials) or liquids. It is re-usable. It is inexpensive. It occupies minimum space when (e.g.) returned empty. It needs minimum handling arrangements for its filling, emptying or transportation.
