The duct to the fan comprises a duct deflector with a sound damper insert on a duct wall. The deflector is formed as an elbow (4), and the sound damping insert (7) is fitted on the elbow outer curvature, inclined against the longitudinal axis of the elbow outlet duct. Pref. the elbow is orthogonally curved and fitted above the collection housing. The sound damping insert is inclined w.r.t the longitudinal axis of the elbow inlet duct, e.b. by 5 to 20 deg. The duct (2) to the fan (3) may have two mutually opposite sections. USE/ADVANTAGE - For kitchen vapour exhausters, with sufficient, low-cost noise damping, and easy damping insert cleaning.
