The set-time controlling method includes the steps of: calculating the distance between a current position of spoke and a spoke to type; discriminating whether the distance is a predetermined number of spokes and setting the set time of a print wheel if the distance is below the predetermined number of spokes; discriminating whether a ribbon is single or multiple if the distance is above the predetermined number of spokes; setting the set time; and driving a hammer driver, thereby preventing the vibration of the print wheel.
