PURPOSE:To provide a packaging material having excellent oxygen-barrier properties. CONSTITUTION:A film of an inorganic substance, e.g. silicon oxide, is formed at a thickness of about 200-2,000Angstrom on a base made of a polyester resin obtained mainly from 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and a glycol, such as poly (ethylene naphthalate) or poly (butylene naphthalate). Usable for the film formation is the dry plating method such as vacuum deposition, ion plating, or sputtering or the CVD method such as plasma-assisted CVD. |
