PURPOSE:To improve a mixed state of fuel throughout a period starting from a cold-down time of an engine to a time after warming-up. CONSTITUTION:A plurality air injection nozzles 15a and 15b are opened to the periphery of the fuel injection nozzle 14 of a fuel injection valve 1. The air injection nozzles 15a and 15b are formed asymmetrically about the central line of the fuel injection nozzle 14 such that the diffusion direction of fuel spray is changed from a direction in which it points to an intake air valve 5 to a direction in which it points to an electric heater 6 by means of air flows injected through the air injection nozzles 15a and 15b. A control unit 7 is provided for feeding pressure air to the air injection nozzles 15a and 15b during energization of the heater 6. |
