The recuperator consists of a container (5) to receive the condensate from a condenser (1), and a system (6, 19, 18, 15) which allows the washing to be dried when the condenser and container are in place and the container is not full, and detects when the container is full or absent and when the condenser is absent. The system incorporates a two-way micro-switch (6) and a mechanism which enables it to deliver a voltage to a heating element (12) or to a detector (14). The mechanism comprises a lever (19) which can apply a pressure to the control stud of the micro-switch, and a projection (18) which can apply a pressure to the lever. A weight (15) inside the container is designed to position the container so that the projection (18) applies a pressure to the lever when the container is not full but the condenser is present. A second weight linked to a rod shows when the condenser is absent. ADVANTAGE - Reduced number of components and more reliable operation.
