摘要 A reactor for cleaning or regenerating contaminated liquids contains at least one source of radiation past which the liquid is conveyed. The novel feature is that the radiation source is located in a glass tube (9) and produces predominantly UV-radiation, and that a number of glass liquid flow tubes (11) are distributed around the radiation source. These tubes are connected to inlet and outlet systems (5,6). Pref. the flow tubes are preferably arranged in at least one concentric circle around the radiation source. Static mixing elements (13) are provided in the flow tubes and cause the liquid to pass the radiation source in constantly changing laminar or turbulent flow layers. The mixing elements transmit or reflect the radiation which falls on them. The flow tubes may be in the form of thin capillaries, the liquid flow being produced by capillary action. The flow tubes are surrounded by a reflecting housing (14). The spectrum of the radiation is chosen in accordance with the binding energy levels of the contaminant molecules. USE/ADVANTAGE - For cleaning or regenerating contaminated liquids, e.g. used lubricating oil from vehicle engines. The radiation energy is efficiently introduced into the liquid and the contaminants are effectively neutralised. The reactor is of a simple construction.
