The hydropneumatic spring mechanism has a first valve system comprising a three way pressure control valve (21). Check valves (18,22) arranged downstream of the three way valve can be unblocked via control pipes (23,24,25). A second valve system (37) operates in conjunction with a load-sensing pump (39). Between them the valves control three operating positions, a rest position (0), a position when the control is on (b), and a position when the control is off (a). USE/ADVANTAGE - Hydropneumatic spring mechanism for tractor enables load-sensing pump to detect low load over extended period of time and in consequence run with reduced drive output.
