The water heater has a boiler (9) with a heat exchanger (8) connected to a hot water feed line (6) and selectively coupled to the central heating circuit (14), or the heat exchanger (12) in the hot water circuit via a 3-way valve (10). A circulation pump (11) is inserted in the feedback line to the boiler heat exchanger. A heating bypass line (16) controlled by an overflow valve (13) lies in parallel with the central heating circuit, with a second bypass line (1) controlled by a further valve (2) across a latent heat reservoir (4, 5) in front of the boiler heat exchanger.
