A cylindrical compression sleeve (1) has a flange-like end (2) and an outer bevelled edge (3) at its opposite free end. An insert (5,6), with a head (7) approximately the same diameter as the sleeve, is resistance-welded with the sleeve by its head. The head and sleeve can be welded radially through axial pressure. The bevelled area (8) forms the transition between the head and sleeve. The sleeve can have an area of reduced wall thickness adjoining the flange-like end. The insert part can be a threaded bolt (5) with cylindrical shaft (6) running into the head. ADVANTAGE - Provides a secure sealed connection.
