The vehicle bench seat has an incorporated child restraint provided by an inflatable air-bag (3) which is inflated by a pneumatic pump incorporated in the vehicle to form an infant seat which rests on the central arm rest (2) when this is folded down. Pref. the pneumatic pump is coupled to a control for selectively inflating and evacuating the air bag, the pressure within the latter being monitored. The deflated air bag is stowed in a reception space in the seat behind the armrest reception compartment. ADVANTAGE - Simple incorporation of infant safety seat, facilitating quick placing of infant in safe riding position.
