Compositions suitable for the production of partially stabilized grains/powders for use in refractory and other ceramic shapes can be achieved by the use of Zirconia powder, fused calcium zirconate powder, Wollastonite and Zirconium Pyrophosphate. The binding and sintering agents for the composition are Zirconium Oxychloride, Aluminium Chlorohydrate and Vanadyl Chloride. The pressed compacts, on sintering at 1600 - 1650 degree celsius, resulted in shatter proof compacts having good sintered density and excellent spalling resistance. |
