PURPOSE:To remove organic binder contained in an electrolyte layer to increase cell performance by introducing a mixture of air and carbon dioxide gas into an oxidizing agent gas chamber and a fuel gas chamber, and keeping gasses at a temperature cxeeding the decomposition temperature of organic binder for a specified time, then introducing reducing gas containing carbon dioxide gas in the fuel chamber until the temperature becomes the operation temperature, and starting power generation. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of air and carbon dioxide gas is introduced into an oxidizing agent chamber and a fuel chamber, and gasses are kept at a temperature exceeding the decomposition temperature of organic binder for a specified time, and reducing gas containing carbon dioxide gas is introduced into the fuel chember until the temperature becomes the operation temperature, then power generation is started. Since a mixture of air and carbon dioxide is used for removing the binder, even if the temperature for removing the binder is set above the melting point of the mixture carbonate, the vapor pressure of carbonate is increased by the presence of carbon dioxide and the vaporization of carbonate is retarded. The time required for removing binder is shortened about 30% compared with the conventional method, and almost all binder can be removed. |
