SATELLITE MOUNTED ARRAY ANTENNA

PURPOSE:To set the posture of a satellite mounted array antenna independently of the posture of the main body of an artificial satellite and to freely control the direction and the shape of a radiation beam from the satellite mounted array antenna. CONSTITUTION:Plural planer or curved surface shaped sub arrays 1 and a main body 8 of the artificial satellite are connected by connection cables 11 integrating sub array supporting wires, RF signal feeding cables and power supply cables, and the array antenna is constituted by expanding the sub arrays into planes or curved surface in a space separated from the main body 8 of the artificial satellite. Further, the feeding circuits or element antennas of respective sub arrays are provided with phase shifters so as to control the phase of RF signals radiated from the sub arrays to the space.
