996,887. Teat cups. DAIRY EQUIPMENT CO. Aug. 13, 1962 [Aug. 25, 1961], No. 31006/62. Heading A1M. To ensure a firm grip on the teat of an animal the upper part 31 of an inflation 30 is surrounded by an elastic sleeve 33 held in position by means of a ridge 39 on the inflation which is made from a flexible material having high oil resistance, e.g. synthetic rubber, the elastic sleeve being formed of natural rubber or comprising a metal spring joined at its ends to form a cylindrical band. A transparent connector 34 joints the milk-receiving section 32 of the inflation to a conduit 34<SP>1</SP> coupled to a vacuum source and a milk container, the section 32 being inserted in a metal collar 35 having circumferential grooves in which is located a ring 36 effecting a seal between the rigid outer shell 37 of the teat cup and the collar. In a modification the connector 34 is omitted, the section 32 being formed integral with the conduit 34, and the lower end of the shell 37 is flared inwardly to form a neck which is located between two spaced circumferential ridges formed on the conduit. |
