A process utilizing carbazole dioxazine crude, having a specific surface area of from 2 to 20 m2/g and an average particle size of 0.5 to 20 (my)m, as a pigment to color high molecular weight organic materials is disclosed. The process is especially useful for producing multicolor effects and camouflage effects and for use in automotive coatings. Compositions containing the carbazole dioxazine crude and a high molecular weight organic material are also disclosed.
