PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of the light emission and focusing module. CONSTITUTION:A small-sized module emits a diverged light beam and performs its focusing. The focusing module consists of a small-sized light emitting element like a laser diode 1 and a micro optical component 12 fixed to a lens holder 13. The external diameter of the micro optical component 12 is equal to or smaller than 4mm and, preferably, equal to or smaller than 2.5mm. The micro optical component 12 may be a general small-sized lens, a gradient index lens, or one diffraction optical component among plural types. The focal distance of the module to the light from the light emitting element is fixed by sliding the lens holder 13 along its optical axis and permanently adhering it at a proper position for the light emitting element after the focusing. |
