The machine connects a plane stock (1) to the frame of a chain cutter with two parallel hook-shaped ribbed guides on the side wall (2) of the frame, in the longitudinal direction and preferably bolted to a flange plate (3). The guides form a mounting for the plane stock which is coupled to a drive (6). A pressure sensor (21) coupled to the flange plate sends electrical signals via a distribution box to a control unit of the tool. At least one of the two grooves (7,8) and the corresponding rib (9, 10) have gaps (12,14) whose length is longer than the width of the groove and rib segments.
