Novelty food prods. are made in thin slab form having the size and appearance of plastic credit cards, charge cards, telephone cards, etc. The prods. are made having the same rectangular shape and length and width dimensions as plastic credit and similar cards, but the thickness is greater than that of plastic cards, e.g. 1.5-5 mm. The shaped plates of edible material may be coloured and are pref. covered with a coating layer of harder material, esp. sugar, to prevent the colour or particles of material from soiling the hands. The coating may be transparent, glossy or coloured and may carry a printed design. USE - Edible food prods. such as chewing gum, edible paper, fruit gam, liquorice, gelatine, sugar, caramel, etc., are used to make novelty prods. having the size and appearance of plastic credit cards.
