PURPOSE:To measure the content of polished rice within a short time by irradiating non-ground sample unpolished rice with light having a specific wavelength within a near infrared region and measuring the absorbancy of transmitted light. CONSTITUTION:A predetermined amt. of sample unpolished rice is received in a sample cell 7 in a non-ground state to be loaded in a sample holder 8 and spectrum data in the vicinity of a predetermined wavelength is taken in through a reflected light sensor 9 while a diffraction lattice 6 is driven. An operation part 12 measures absorbancy in the vicinity of a wavelength of 1906nm in parallel to the calculation of the protein content Xp or moisture content Xm or both contents of unpolished rice to be measured and calculates the content Y of polished rice according to the calibration curve stored in a memory part 11, that is, Y=K0+K1 (lambda1906) (%) calculated by allowing predetermined coefficient values K0, K1 to act on a wavelength lambda=1906nm. |
