MUTANT TYPE GAL4, ITS DNA AND METHOD FOR ENHANCING EXPRESSION OF FOREIGN PROTEIN WITH THE SAME MUTANT TYPE GAL4

PURPOSE:To provide a method for enabling a foreign protein under the control of a GAL1, GAL7 or GAL10 promoter to further enhance and improve its expression as compared with the case of employing no or a wild type GAL4 by using a mutant type GAL4. CONSTITUTION:The mutant type GAL4 described in sequence No.1 (the sequence table is omitted) is obtained by adding Asp to a position between Asp in the 863-position and Val in the 864-position from the N-terminal of a wild type GAL4. Sequence No.2 (the sequence table is omitted) can be exemplified as the DNA capable of coding the mutant type GAL4. Thereby, the expression of a foreign protein can be enhanced by transducing an expression unit of the mutant type GAL4 and a unit capable of expressing the foreign protein under the control of a GAL1, GAL7 or GAL10 promoter into a yeast and culturing the resultant yeast.
