PURPOSE:To provide a recording fluid for an ink jet printer which has rapid drying properties without detriment to high image quality and a recording method. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet recording method wherein a recording fluid containing a water-soluble dye of the formula [wherein X is H, -OH, -NH2 or -COOM; Y is H, -COOM or -SO3M; R1 and R2 are each H or a 1-10C substituent containing at least one member selected from among -OH, -NH2, -C6H5, >C=O and -O-; R3 is a 1-10C substituent having at least one member selected from among -OH, -NH2, -C6H5 and -O-; M is H, Li, Na, K, ammonium or amine; and n is 1 or 2] is used as the recording fluid. The response frequency is 3kHz or above, the dot density is 300dpi or above, and the weight per dot is 0.2mug or below. |
