<p>PURPOSE:To detect a moving object and an static object using a PSD. CONSTITUTION:Currents I1 and I2 corresponding to the position G of the center of gravity at a light spot containing a side light 2 to form an image are outputted from a PSD 1. When a plurality of light spots are formed on a photodetecting surface of the PSD 1, a current corresponding to the position G of the center of gravity determined from the positions of the light spots and the intensity of light is outputted from the PSD 1. So, the output of the PSD 1 as given when no object exists in a detection area is stored as a reference state and the output of the PSD 1 obtained in the normal operation is compared with the value stored in the reference state, thereby, whether any change occurs from the reference condition or not, namely, whether any object exists in the detection area or not, can be detected.</p> |
