NETWORK ADAPTOR SYSTEM

摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a network system which can evade a copy of excess data when the data are given form a processor to application by constituting a network adapter which separates the data and a header of an incoming packet and stores them in different memory buffers. CONSTITUTION: A network adapter discriminates a header/data separate position and programs DMA hardware. The DMA hardware transfers a header 101 to a storage device unit reaching the division position according to the program and adds pad data 102 finally so that the beginning 103 of a data part comes surely to a memory page border. The processor can give the data to application by sending a pointer of the data.
