The bumper bar includes a beam (11), inside the decorative bumper (12),which carries supports (4123) for the torsion bar (412) which carries at each end a pad (42) with a friction lining (43). On impact, the beam moves towards the road wheel and the friction lining rubs on the road wheel. Friction pads fixed to the bodywork opposite the pads (42,43) will contact the wheel on further movement.
