<p>PURPOSE:To enable a user in keying operation on a keyboard to easily perform pointing operation without keeping the hands and fingers off the home positions on the keyboard by installing a track ball on the front slanting surface of a body of equipment. CONSTITUTION:The slanting surface 150 is formed on the user side of the small- sized work station equipment body 100, i.e., on the front side of the keyboard device part of the body equipment. The track ball as a rotary sphere 120 and a hole 170 for holding the rotary sphere 120 are installed on the slanting surface 150. The user in keying operation on the keyboard device, therefore, rotates the rotary sphere 120 installed on the slanting surface 150 with the thumb without putting the fingers away from the home positions on the keyboard, so that a cursor on a display 3 moves in the operation direction of the thumb. Further, click buttons 130 and 140 are installed nearby the rotary sphere 20 and then pressed with the different thumb from the thumb controlling the rotary sphere 120.</p> |
