PURPOSE:To easily perform color adjustment and discrimination by connecting a color picture processor to an external device independently of the characteristic of the processor and inputting/outputting and processing the picture signal. CONSTITUTION:A first color conversion means 1 which converts the color separation signal inputted from a picture read means to a signal of uniform color space, a signal processing means 2 which processes the signal of uniform color space, and a second color conversion means 3 which converts the signal of uniform color space to the color material signal of a picture output means are provided, and editing processing and input/output processing to the outside are performed by the signal processing means 2. A gamma correction means is provided in the preceding stage of the first color conversion means 1 and the succeeding stage of the second color conversion means 3, and the signal processing means 2 is provided with the editing processing circuit which subjects the picture signal to the editing processing like color conversion or color adjustment and the area discriminating circuit which divides plural picture elements into blocks and discriminates the document mode of character, half tone, or the like. An undercolor removal, means which generates a black printer and removes the undercolor by the color material signal, a filter for moire removal and edge emphasis, and a hue adjusting means for color adjustment can be provided in the succeeding stage of the second color conversion means 3. |
