The binder mixture encompasses a mixture of a hydroxyl group-containing polymer and a polymer of 1,3-butadiene with laterally attached succinic acid anhydride groups. This material is known per se; it hardens without addition of catalyst at elevated temperatures. Propellent bodies which are produced with this binder system are pore-free, do not contain any voids and burn away uniformly. Their mechanical properties correspond to those of the known propellent bodies. They are also elastic at temperatures of -40{C, do not show any brittle fracture and do not soften at temperatures up to about 100{C. The hydroxyl group-containing polymer may be polybutadiene. The explosive material may be nitramines or nitro compounds.
