CLEANING AND ANTISTATIC TREATMENT OF POLYOLEFINE PLASTIC SURFACES

An aqueous solution containing 0.01 to 1 % by weight of a combination of (a) at least one alkoxylated alkylamine and (b) at least one polyethylene glycol-sorbitan ester is used to clean and apply an antistatic treatment to polyolefine plastic surfaces; the ratio by weight between components (a) and (b) lies in a range from 3 : 1 to 1 : 3. This aqueous solution is preferably used to clean and apply an antistatic treatment to polyolefine plastic transport containers for the foodstuff industry, in particular the beverage, bakery, meat and fish industry. Soil particles which electrostatically adhere to such transport containers are detached and resoiling of the transport containers is efficiently prevented.
