Use of Evans blue as AMPA-kainate receptor antagonists - esp. for treating CNS disorders

摘要

Use of Evans blue (I) for reversible inhibition or retardation of glutamine-induced synaptic excitation transmission in the CNS of mammals is claimed. Also claimed is the use of (I) for pharmacological differentiation of various subtypes of glutamate receptor channels of the AMPA/kainate type. Also claimed is a medicament for treating CNS disorders, contg. (I) as active ingredient. (I) is of formula: USE - (I) is potentially useful for treating neurological disorders, e.g. Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.
