摘要 A prawn shelling machine has a transport wheel with grippers and an advancing element to load the grippers, so that each prawn can be set in a correct position, relative to body and tail, at the right time for the gripper, and the subsequent process. The dual conveyor band (75') are arranged in V formation, with motors (72) and shaft (60) at each side. The conveyor accepts the prawns (10) tail first, and then the body in direction (T). The laser (97) is coupled to a microprocessor, so that the direction and length is measured, and a calculation effected, so that the prawn will leave the conveyor in the precise position to be laid in the gripper (12), which are arranged in series around the drive wheel (42). The tail lies in the gripper section (13), with body at (14). The photo-electric sensor (100), also coupled to the microprocessor, works in conjunction with the drive, to accept the prawn in the correct manner. The gripper (12) can advance the prawn to the shelling equipment in a manner which avoids damage to the prod. and wastage is avoided. ADVANTAGE - The machine layout saves space, can accept the prod. at a higher speed, and ensures that each one is in the correct position for further treatment, to avoid waste.
