Use of C1-inhibitor for the preparation of a medicament for the prophylaxes and therapy of the capillary leak syndroms and circulatory shock.

The use of C1 inactivator for the preparation of a medicament for the prophylaxis and therapy of the capillary leak syndrome (generalised extravasation) and circulatory failure (refractory hypotension) in cases of severe burns or scalds, polytrauma, operations with extracorporeal circulation or on use of cytokines, endogenous mediators, genetically engineered mediator hybrids or growth factors during the therapeutic use of these substances, and of the capillary leak syndrome and veno-occlusive disease of the liver after therapeutically or prophylactically indicated bone marrow transplantation is described.
