<p>In a cordless communications system such as DECT, data can be transmitted in the appropriate physical channel of a TDMA frame. When the data terminal generates data at a rate less than the capacity of the physical channel, the data is accumulated in a buffer store until it has sufficient to occupy a physical channel, whereafter it is transmitted in an assigned channel. In order to cope with transmissions from a plurality of low rate data terminals, a plurality of concatenated frames (FR0 to FR15) are assembled to form a multiframe and transmissions from the data terminals are multiplexed between the corresponding physical channel in the frames of the multiframe. <IMAGE></p> |
