PURPOSE:To provide the title thermoplastic resin compsn. having excellent rigidity, surface flatness, etc., by compounding a specified amt. of a thermoplastic liq. crystal polymer having a low heat distortion temp. with a polyolefin or a polystyrene resin. CONSTITUTION:A wholly arom. polyester liq. crystal polymer having a heat distortion temp. of 200 deg.C or lower is prepd. by performing a polycondensation reaction of a mixture of an arom. diol (e.g., formula I), an arom. carboxylic acid (e.g., formula II) and an arom. hydroxy carboxylic acid (e.g., formula III). 10-80wt.% this thermoplastic polyester liq. crystal polymer is compounded with a polyolefin resin (e.g., polypropylene) or a polystyrene resin (e.g., polystyrene) to prepare a thermoplastic resin compsn. for a stick of a small bore diameter. This resin compsn. is suitably used for preparing a stick of a small bore diameter to be used for cotton applicators, straws, etc. |
