PURPOSE:To reproduce a picture subjected to sub-Nyquist sampling with high quality by converting an inter-frame dynamic vector into an inter-field dynamic vector and overlapping the picture information of the existing field and the picture information before one field while matching the relative position. CONSTITUTION:The picture information subjected to sub-Nyquist sapling, for example, quantized and constituting one frame of n fields is inputted to an input terminal 1 and the inputted picture information is fed to a field memory 2 and an interpolation filter 3. The picture information subjected to inter-field interpolation is sent from an output terminal 4 of the interpolation filter 3 by superimposing the picture information before one field fed from the field memory 2 onto the picture information of the existing field fed directly from the input terminal 1. In case of animation picture information, its read address is shifted or a delay time is controlled according to the inter-field dynamic vector so that the picture information of the existing field and the picture information before one field are superimposed correctly while the relative positions are coincident. |
