PRODUCTION OF REACTIVE OLIGOMER, UNSATURATED POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION AND ARTIFICIAL MARBLE

PURPOSE:To obtain the new subject oligomer capable of providing excellent characteristics such as appearance of moldings, low shrinkage, crack resistance and transparency to an unsaturated polyester by reacting a polycarbonate dial with an unsaturated dibasic acid. CONSTITUTION:A polycarbonate diol (preferably aliphatic polycarbonate diol) is made to react with an unsaturated dibasic acid (preferably acid anhydride such as maleic anhydride), usually at a ratio of the diol of 0.5-2mol based on 1mol of the acid to provide the objective oligomer. The reaction temperature is preferably 80-210 deg.C when the unsaturated dibasic acid is an acid anhydride and preferably 120-210 deg.C when the unsaturated dibasic acid is not an acid anhydride. Furthermore, double bond equivalent of this oligomer is preferably 550-4500 from the viewpoints of advantages capable of carrying out three- dimensional reaction in curing of unsaturated polyester resin composition and further improving crack resistance.
