PURPOSE:To efficiently, stably obtain high-molecular weight polyolefin excellent in powder morphology by polymerizing an olefin using a catalyst composed of a transition metal compound, aluminoxane and magnesium compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyolefin can be obtained by polymerizing an olefin using a catalyst composed of (A) a transition metal compound of formula MR<1>aR<2>bR<3>cR<4> (M is group IV B transition metal; R<1>-R<4> are each ligand bearing sigma-bond nature, ligand bearing chelating nature, or Lewis base; a-d are each 0-4) [e.g. tetramethyltitanium, titanium bis(acetylacetonate)], (B) aluminoxane and (C) a magnesium compound of formula Mg(OR)nX<1>2-n (R is alkyl; X is halogen; n is 1 or 2). |
